Punk: Chaos to Couture Part I

This days all eyes were looking at the celebrities walking the Red Carpet in Met Gala this year.

First of all, I think it's important to know what the Met Ball really means, cause this event is not just celebrities in couture. The Costume Institute Gala is a ball that celebrates the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum's fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. Since 1948 the event has been an annual affair at the Met.
Hosted by Vogue, this event is considered by fashion experts the best red carpet event in the fashion world.

Now that we ALL know what the Met Gala means, let me show you some of my favourite looks of the night and of course we cannot forget the worst dresses. Oh, and the theme of the party was PUNK

One of my favourite look was Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Gucci, I have a girl crush on her, a really big one. From the makeup to the accessories, Rosie looked flawless.

Zooey Deschanel looked lovely in Tommy Hilfiger and an Edie Parker safety-pin clutch. She totally ran away from the theme, and went for another theme, being herself, funny and light.

The fashionable Diane Kruger never let's you down, she makes a potato sack wearable and beautiful, thanks to her accessories. Wearing a Chanel Spring 2013 Couture dress she ruled the red carpet with her blonde strands dip-dyed in bubble-gum pink.

You want punk with high glamour, look at Blake Lively wearing Gucci Première. Only this bombshell could pull such a dramatic skirt with layers of black organza. Of course she accessorised this great look with her favourite jeweller Lorraine Schwartz.

Emma Watson is really coming out of her image of Hermione, and choosing a more sexy side. In a Prabal Gurung custom made dress with cut outs and a thigh high slit, Miss Watson rocked the red carpet with her rock hard abs.

I thought that this day would never come, but I saw Taylor Swift embracing the punk and putting aside her prom dresses. Wearing J. Mendel, adding some smoky eyes and dark nails, the country star transformed into a punk rock star.

Another bombshell (actually now the looks more like a femme fatale with dark hair) is Amber Heard in Emilio Pucci, accompanied by Peter Dundas (the designer). Looking sexy thanks to this backless dress, Amber never goes wrong on the red carpet.

Miranda Kerr, not only her street style is one of my favourites, she looked stunning in a Michael Kors that fitted her like a glove. From her deep berry lips to her Christian Louboutin clutch, Mir = Perfection

Stay Tuned for Part Deux

xoxo, A
